We interviewed Courtney & Andrew, an awesome couple who own an INCREDIBLE Volkswagen Eurovan located on Manhattan Beach, CA. Below are some questions we asked them about their camper van life… and if you feel inspired to join in on the fun, a button with their listing is below!
What inspired you to buy your camper van?
We love camping and exploring wildlands. We’re also starting a family and want visiting nature to be a part of our family story and a source of deep connection.
What is the best thing about your camper van?
We love the pop top. It creates a feeling of spaciousness, provides extra sleeping options, keeps the van cool, opens up the view, and offers plenty of headroom.
Does your van have a super power? If so, what is it?
Our 2001 Eurovan handles the steepest roads with ease and drives like a car. It has a V6 engine that offers 40% more power (201 HP) than all previous models.
What is your favorite road trip destination and why?
We love the Plumas National Forrest in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It offers a series of charming alpine lakes of all sizes, each with its own magical feel and space, perfect for camping around, and taking plunges into fresh, clear water. The area allows dogs and does not require a wilderness permit to camp.
What are some road trip tricks you can share with others?
We have been often disappointed (at first) to discover campgrounds labeled as FULL. Not letting that stop us we are so often surprised to find that there are actually available spots for those staying only one night because of no-shows.
Your favorite road trip travel item and why?
Our favorite road trip item is probably the 12V DC to 120V AC converter that has two plugs and powers our laptops off the coach battery. Quite inexpensive and super useful.
What inspired you to rent out your camper van?
We love the outdoors and sharing the joy of visiting nature low-key and in comfort. When we’re not enjoying the campervan, it makes us feel good that someone else is!
